Long before the Wii U was announced, and rumors about the touchscreen equipped controller appeared, has been speculated that Nintendo's next home console would first and foremost to 3D be focused, similar to the 3ds. However, E3 came and went without even a mere mention of 3D for the new console.

Nintendo says now that the Wii-U can "technologically" 3D, but it is not a primary focus for the console due to the slow acceptance of the 3DTVs.

If technologically want connect Wii U to a home TV in every 3D images, Yes, it will be possible, but this is not the area concentrate we on us...

Satoru Iwata said, President of Nintendo.

... When it comes to the home console, it depends on TV by the availability of 3D at home, which is unfortunately not enough. And instead of casting much energy in this type of environment, with the Wii-U we want to have more an equal opportunities on each Wii U owners able to enjoy to focus.

Perhaps will we see a glasses-free Wii go U controller in the future, with the 3DTV?

While we on the subject, how about a show of hands comments those of you who have or are planning a 3DTV before the end of the year are buying.
