Rookie salaries, free agency remain friction in NFL talks

NEW YORK--NFL owners and representatives of the players are a Manhattan Office building for a new round of working talks as negotiations a critical phase hit arrived.

Deadlines coming up next week, training camp and the preseason started just in time to get, but the two sides could reach an agreement on a new collective agreement. Players have now for four months has been locked.

Among the sticking points in negotiations, the rookie were wage scale and structure of the free agency.

Players Association Chief DeMaurice Smith, along with NFL owner Robert Kraft, the Patriots, John Mara of the New York Giants and Jerry Jones, Dallas Cowboys were the arrival of the discussions seen on Wednesday morning.
