The extra layer of copy protection the BD-ROM drive integrates new model specification not to, but something mentioned is very interesting and appealing.

The official CECH3000 spec page of the Japanese PlayStation website lists the console as a PS2 compatible software, or to the translation seems to indicate. The exact translation reads:

* This product, "PlayStation 2" have a compatibility with proprietary software.

Granted, the translation is not entirely clear, but in GB launch was consoles on older models of PS3, such as the 20 GB and 60 and 80 GB console reduced the price that shortly afterwards published, support PS2 done.

Then PS2 was fallen support brackets to reduce the cost of PS3. At this point, but the cost for the PS3 can components were reduced enough, to include it.

We soon find out, as this new PS3 model replace current stock once it is sold by begin.
