Thor: God of Thunder - PS3 - GR review
It is an error that must be mentioned in advance, a painful error should make of the Thor franchise, the intelligent human cry in pain and disgust. It is an error that should make all rights Thor: God of Thunder a complete failure.
Thor through over long distances in the environment by which turned his hammer on, collect kinetic energy and throw it. He keeps on the hammer and is done with it. What the hell. This... This is good in this world, simply wrong, a travesty against all, almost, almost as bad as double jump from the air. I am can random Flash, and even the concept that each major character of a God... but is that? This is just shocking.
Said that, given this Nick is probably fire me for grading a game on canonical equipped Ness alone, you get a 'B' game. Thor is busy rather fun - a pleasant surprise - when you deal with any kind of movie-tie-in video game.
The player controls Thor, the God of Thunder, which is thicker than a sack of shit. It is a kind of sick pleasure - develop Thor in increasingly obvious ways almost like just a car accident before your eyes - in just Loki (the personification of chaos) assassination. And each time, Thor reaction tends to be somewhere along the lines of "what just happened?" Loki, by chance in the incredibly coincidental position of this last attack on me. "Please help me because you are surely trustworthy." It is similar to presented some children with a toy, it hides behind the back, and they observe anywhere... but look behind your back.
The gameplay is incredibly similar to the God of war; Thor to kill thousands of small enemies with increasingly extravagant maneuvers, occasionally punctuating these battles with a greater enemy, which Thor physically will rise to the, to cause pain and death. Combat is surprising, wonderful rhythmically and easily to control; the ease with which targets, players can change combo - also in middle, leads wonderful acrobatic homicide, seamlessly combined with the magic system, and the physical struggle.
It is this last point is especially charming. There are, though, you need a separate skill tree for physical and magical attacks not running off styles change to stop. with a few in time button presses is Thor smash some evil with his hammer send a Shockwave Flash on his person and then proceed with his hammer throw on some bad sucka face, with no apparent break in the River. In this sense can the skill system for a small range of Playstyles. Upgrade is a special ability not only to his power increase, but add additional effects accompanied by extra flares of magic and extra painful hammer taste.
It is indicated as short but not much variety. The branches for players available, some seems completely useless (although a skill to blow harder and faster.... of course allows Thor with wind), as if she had added only to the tree itself make more structured view than it really is. Admittedly, is this a small complaint; It may not be incredible diversity, but the fight is still involved and satisfaction.
Where the game starts to fall by is in its aesthetic representation, especially the graphics and sounds that are boring. In addition, some are just stupid related collectibles. Of the three or four "Sekrit bonus" for one of them changes the color of Thor's lightning and the other looks like Thor. Not inherently a bad thing, mind; It is only anti-climactic your way to a hidden and incredible maddening platform sequence which shoot way, instead of blue or yellow green Flash only to fight.
If another, more polished game didn't exist, Thor was incredibly fun. But well, let's put it so: you go to a party and see a guy called Mr Greece, abs, an awesome accent, got tear and a splendid Angsty storyline. But for some reason, you get Cockblocked, so that you have in the direction of Mr Norway, hiking has also a sexy foreign accent and he would be perfect, if you had not met Mr Greece only a few minutes before. The problem is, you have settled for Mr Norway. And to enable as much fun as it is when you go home and pop in Norway, will you think about Greece all the time. (And you are a woman or gay, or someone who is totally confused.)
