Indianapolis India-rookie Ho-Pin Tung has met Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis after crashing hard in the Indianapolis 500 qualifying.

Track officials said he was awake and alert.

Tung's quest, first Chinese driver to start the race is in danger, after he damaged cars to the rear end of no. 8. Jay Penske team needs no backup car for the No. 8 listed.

Tung 224 mph on each crowned his first three laps qualification, on average, that would have him sixth on the grid. But when he came from the first corner in the final qualification round, the car spun and backed into the outside wall. She slipped down the warmup lane and spewed finally stopped as liquid in the air.

Tung got quickly out of the car.
