Call of Juarez: the cartel - GR-review

If there are certain things I know about a gangster, be it is not readable tattoos, baldness, fill the f-word case with Mrs clubs and exercise every ten seconds. If there is one thing that I know a police officer, it is about manipulation, with sunglasses in the night, is a Dick and... behaves like a gangster.

How do I know this? Because I played call of Juarez: the cartel, which features a fairly predictable plot with three main characters. Kimberly is an FBI agent and agile marksman, who lost two brothers and aims to protect her youngest brother gang activities. Eddie Guerra, DEA agents, suitable for medium range combat and facilities akimbo SMGs specialized. He is a gambling addict, located deep in debt. Finally Gunslinger Benjamin McCall is lethal with small arms, and is also an effective shooter with heavy machine guns.

Which characters you determined what perspective of the action that you receive, so you much more about this character history than the others to learn. It encourages players to see other perspectives in a second or third play through the game is over. This means that if you that make it far.

Once the game is started, I was riding shotgun in a high speed chase dodged by inbound traffic on the opposite side of the freeway during the driver recklessly. In the meantime screaming my team-mate AI to me on the attacker behind us thrown. I drag me from the passenger window, turn around, aim and shoot, but "wait, I'm even trigger?" "What the Hell…" Oh, the weapon was nothing wrong cause, but there were no recoil. Just a few minutes into play, this was the beginning of many of the problems.

Call of Juarez: the cartel add some variety to the gameplay with different landscape and a few great effects manage. While on the docks, you can avoid shots from a grenade launcher during a cargo ship, unexpectedly large storage containers force tips to crash, come, down, down, making the scale of the scene notable. Another level includes finding weed fields in the forest, but a helicopter disturbs your mission. You and your AI teammates lead to a nearby house for cover, only for the helicopter, half of the structure with rockets as again and again to destroy the effects of the blasts, you knock down.

However, these dramatic scenes scattered the rather lackluster details the game not hide. In every other car scene, you are able to bring crash and side-swipe of other cars, but the car itself is perfectly preserved. While scenes shatter the Windows of shots, the hunt for Windows only, as magically in the next scene will appear again. There is also an extensive weapons range, but there is no emphasis on the weapons themselves. Due to the lack of recoil I wish that I could use the game of AK-47 in other shooters. (Not.)

Fight, others as a weapon to fight, includes melee, but nothing too complex. You have controlled by two buttons, two fists, and it takes only three goals to take an enemy, all that add up to a very poor and uninspired Brawl. There are no combos or strategies involved, so block and a few JABs. Yay...

A surprise was the encounter with glitches either not. The AI is often too friendly with the wall or your character goes by spasms when entering or leaving doorways. There are also problems with loading the background in certain scenes.

But all is not completely lost. You can drop/drop-out feature to pull a few friends with you about the co-op. Sure, you can all three break the monotony. If this is not the case, there is to try always a different mode.

Multiplayer consists of a mode: team Deathmatch. Two teams, a cops and a criminal each other there in four cards and four scenarios different storyline and each with different objectives. Bulls need to storm of the gang hideout, access to evidence and witnesses to accompany the courthouse, while criminals defended the opposite, and chasing down bulls to at end of their mission to prevent. The ranking progression is pretty standard, so that players on level and select class adjustments and features such as damage resistance increases.

In the online mode is surprisingly pleasant, with an interesting concept, but it needs work. A few of the cards feel incomplete, where a part is refined and the rest is not exposed easily to each other leaving players. This changes a match into a killing frenzy, where respawn killing takes place and there is coverage is hiding behind. With only four cards, four scenarios and a competitive multiplayer mode, replay value is short and will quickly be repetitive.

Call of Juarez: the cartel is a mixed bag. It's your basic shooter without any impressive features and that is the problem: it's a game that out from the rest not. It feels like the game, with an idea was developed, but the idea was not to its fullest. If it is there that they in the virtual world well together mesh one thing that I know the police and gangsters, not. At least, in this case.

CRevolution in the report card + multiple characters to the selection... Favorite hobby a rather lackluster Storyline-... .. .with less than stellar combat + drop/drop-out co op glitches and load problems + fun sophisticated ranking system but is multiplayer only an MP mode? +/-I'm now fluent in bad English, houses.
