Sega has in recent years some flack their 3D Sonic title captured. Shadow the Hedgehog was universally panned and Sonic on PS3 and Xbox 360 was even worse, but it seems, as Sega far nothing can do also with the classic side-scrolling formula wrong. This success story is to the test with their new retro mash-up, Sonic generationsbe made.

As far as a history of which I can collect little evidence, but it looks like "The universes have merged a general situation". There are classic Sonic - portly good and all - run, and you are zooming in addition to the new school, Sonic an enemy so far unnamed stop, which responsible is generations... well, for the mixing of the two.
