Gamania in Taiwan: day 0

10:32 AM Posted by Mario Galarza

I will not apologize that grumpy. I have only a day of my life.

Also, this is day 0, because the Gamania game show really until morning starts not, but I just as well, which started get could, while I'm still awake.

I came Kraus at San Francisco International Airport, with the helpful drive from jade from game informer, at 16: 20 on Monday. I had the opportunity that morning walk down to the Chinese supermarket Ranch 99 walked about five minutes from my house for dim sum, but since I to Taiwan, I wanted not to the experience ruin. Instead, I had no Mayo comes with my stomach full with Jack in the box - an extreme sausage and three chicken of sandwiches with bacon. Nothing like good ol' ' fast-food, before I forget what tastes America.

After a meeting with Josh Laddin - who saw a last episode of mad Menvia Netflix at the airport of crappy Wi-Fi - at the gate, I found, 63 H, on a level, nearly 70 lines mean that today only about one-fifth of the maximum passengers. Josh and I were immediately giddy with the idea of horizontal sleep and leg.

I was also surprised the entertainment package: Pirates of the Caribbean 4, Super 8, bridesmaids, Flash, Taiwanese Mahjong, Sudoku, three versions of Pong. With laptop on hand, I was full and ready for a 12-hour flight across the Pacific Ocean. (Side note: turbulence is the enemy of the 3ds.)

The flight prepared me for other thing that ever can be me the Chinese-American like me. I'm not fluent Chinese Mandarin or Cantonese but I naturally look Chinese. So I get the pleasure of experiencing unique facial expressions of the Taiwanese attendants Taiwanese flights expected Taiwanese-looking people, Chinese speak, before you the instructions to me in English to repeat.... Or their hand gestures with smiles, which hides her disappointment. I expect to see this everywhere I go to Taiwan. Of course I am not my fault it at all project. Shut up. Do not understand me! I kill you!

We met also Avery WONG, cool, all-around awesome developer/freelance photojournalist, which one of those thousand dollar-instant cameras around his neck, which makes all other camera appearance... I hate him. His room number is 1010. We live in the Park Taipei Hotel. (GR is not responsible for all the murders, which can happen as a result of this blog post.)

With the long flight and international timeline shenanigans Josh and I stumbled in Taipei on Tuesday 22: 00 28 hours? Ugh. Help. Luckily we had with the remembered me enough energy - and hunger - to study the near proximity of our hotel, Hong Kong a little bit of Tokyo. Within a three block radius, there were four 7-Eleven and only a Starbucks. Yes, we are in any case half way around the world. (I let Josh of the special "console" show that we have seen it.)

That is to say, I went stripes, a milk tea and two way to a family Mart and dried fish to hot, way to oversteamed rolls. So no matter... suck shops everywhere. (I added the belt because belt make everything more exciting.)

Check back with Josh and me, of the week like the Gamania Conference in the course on.
