My shame till I die.
It was not sloth, sir.
Lack of desire for the prize
guided what I wrote.
Haiku I do write
Attempting Freedom from shame.
Simply say you’re sorry.
At writing haiku
I may not be the best, but
better than the rest.
Some were bad, some good
Some smell as fish in the sun
yet I should have won
The fix is in. Humph.
Masterpieces did I write.

Merlin - Joined: Oct 28, 2005You know just because you write many verses in one post isn't really fallowing the spirit of the contest. They ask for a 3 line Haiku. So even if you do post all that and its decent and maybe it even all good, that doesn't mean you should sound grumpy because you don't get picked. My view of this weekly thing has always been for fun and to hand out rewards to different people each week when they can. To be blunt reading a post like this just makes me see you as a sore looser.0 1Like or Dislike?Posted: Aug 2nd, 2011 at 8:45 pm

tinymhg - Joined: Jun 22, 2011Breaking Haiku form just to speak to you Merlin. Sorry if I come across as a sore looser, that was me trying to be funny (unsuccessfully). And it has blinded you to my real tirade against being singled out for what I see as a harsh rebuke: LAZINESS! “In the end this should all just be for good fun, write a silly poem and call it a day win or loose.” What you suggest I do I had already done. I wrote a silly and very bad little poem confident in the knowledge I could not win. I don’t have an Xbox 360 and thus did not want the prize. I wrote that silly and very bad little poem just for the fun of it. If you look at the whole page I was the only person singled out for a red bordered retort. Maybe I am overly sensitive, do to some emotionally scaring things in my past, yet I feel as if I was held up for public ridicule, pilloried if you will.A simple apology is all I ask, and until I get it Daniel gets more haiku.
P.S. I think some of my 3 line only stuff was pretty good too. But then again what do I know?0 1Like or Dislike?Posted: Aug 2nd, 2011 at 10:01 pm

I've sent you off on a haiku tirade the likes of which the world has never, and will never again, see. Don't worry! You'll win a haiku fridays eventually, and you've got more entries in The People Speak drawing than anyone else.0 1Like or Dislike?Posted: Aug 2nd, 2011 at 10:12 pm

Pire-at-Sea
Far away in the kingdom of Pire-at-Sea the evil ruler Arfor concocted a diabolical plan. He would create cloned citizens to infiltrate the kingdoms of Ninmar , Migat and Sogi . These clones would work for the citizens of the kingdoms for free providing the sorts of home help services the kingdoms’ citizens ordinarily paid for regularly. Anyone who wanted to could simply import a clone and avoid paying fees to the huge home help companies of Ela , Blizz and Capla . ...

Each year, GameRevolution sets out on a perilous quest filled with smelly nerds and temptress booth babes on a shark-infested E3 show floor, in order to bring our readers an unbiased, in-depth look at the hottest upcoming games across all major platforms. It’s our privilege and duty to inform the masses as to where they should spend their time and hard-earned money. We take that job very seriously, and have faced the seemingly impossible task of narrowing down the hundreds of titles on display at E3 2011 to the ten stand-out titles, which represent the very best of the best, the must-have, most-anticipated titles releasing over the course of the next couple years.
Read on in great faith that GameRevolution hath selected only the creamiest of the crop. I hereby bestow upon thee (in no particular order) our winners of our Best of E3 2011 Awards.

Release Date: 11/01/11
Excerpt: Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception has a Herculean task at hand: Top its Game of the Year-winning predecessor, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves. And it has to do it in all aspects of the game. From what we’ve experienced so far, it’s almost made a mockery of all other franchises and their natural progression from installment to installment. Believe it or not, this Uncharted is leaps and bounds better than the last.

Release Date: TBA 2012
Excerpt: The game looks simply gorgeous, and so does Lara. I can't stress that enough—she's simply stunning. But it's because she seems more human than video game character. Cave and jungle environments are realistic, rivaling—and possibly beating—any other game on any console. But it’s the facial animations that really shine, especially the appearance of fear and pain written all over her face.

Excerpt: The Reapers are coming, their ships like black hands clawing at the remains of the universe. Your warnings have fallen on the deaf ears of the Citadel, who only now realize the need for all races to unite or fall as yet another failed attempt of evolution. But not even the combined strength of human, turian, salarian, and asari is enough. Only Shepard, true to his name, can bring the other races together to fight against their collective fate. That is his destiny, lest all be lost to the darkness beyond space itself.

Excerpt: Much of Skyrim is still under wraps – crafting systems, guilds, quest management, lockpicking, speech, character generation. I did see horses as a mount and a 3D map that can be accessed simply by zooming out at any time, though the full features of the mount and the map have been left unrevealed. But if what I saw is any indication, I have nothing to worry about.

Excerpt: It's more than evident that Battlefield 3 is aiming to be a top contender in the FPS genre through improvements, variety, balancing, while offering a game that appeals to both console and PC players and every playstyle in between, for the lone wolf or the team player. Come this fall, we’ll finally be able to see if DICE has succeeded in delivering what they've been promising. So far, it looks like they are well on their way.

Excerpt: Infinite's sky world looks beautiful, but perhaps more importantly, you can actually see all of it thanks to natural lighting. The fact that Columbia sits above the clouds in a blue sky means that all the hard work and detail poured into the game's environment will be appreciated that much more. Vibrant colors splash across every object and character. Imbued with patriotism, Columbia flies the ol' Red, White, and Blue quite a bit, but the spectrum of color doesn't stop there.

Some people say that the series is just a rip-off of Grand Theft Auto, but that's the fucking point. In fact, it's really the bold-faced truth. Don't lie and say that you play GTA for the heartwarming story when you spend half the time shooting cops and ignoring phone calls from your cousin and girlfriend. Saints Row: The Third knows what you really want: To Kick Them All In The Nuts.

Excerpt: What do you think about yearly releases? A business model that flogs a franchise on a yearly basis can really hurt developers, fans, and Guitar Heroes. While I'd normal be the first to reprimand Ubisoft for taking such measures with their excellent Assassin's Creed series, each entry in the franchise gets better. If you can give me more, I'll take more.
