Gears of War 3 Review for Xbox 360
AppId is over the quota
For a game as humungous as Gears of War 3, we are most definitely convinced that a review can by no means be able to map the entire experience which the title has on offer from the minute you grab hold of your controller to the moment you set it down. It’s a pity that the developers did not bundle it with something to keep our jaws in place, since they kept dropping all the time due to the magnificence that sips through every teeny-weeny bit for Gears 3 for Xbox 360. Last in the franchise’s current storyline, this game is a cinematic masterpiece that delivers so effortlessly, the smoothest most crunchiest gameplay ever.

Eighteen months after the Jacinto incident, the now leaderless (after Chairman Prescott’s desertion) COG is left with no option but to disband into several units and live on their own, thus placing Delta Squad onboard a freight named CNV Sovereign. A shocking reappearance of Prescott reveals that Marcus’ dad Adam Fenix has been very much alive ever since his assumed death during the battle of Battle of Ephyra. Now that we’ve got the complicated part over with, the main task which the Gears are faced with in this game is to track down Adam on a location named Azura where he’s holed up. That’s because he’s got the solution that will permanently eliminate the lambent threat from the whole of Sera. This makes for the incredible narrative of this title that takes gamers through everything from locust aircrafts, to emulsion filled sewers, to even underwater submarine fights.

‘Forget stealth, smoke em!’ These words by Marcus Fenix during one of the game’s sequences straightforwardly summarize the gameplay philosophy on which the Gears 3 has been built. It would be careless of us not to praise the title’s efficient battle mechanics that so easily drive it to near perfection. A variety of weapons make their way into Gears of War 3, the most exciting among them being the Retro Lancer which is said to have been introduced on ‘popular demand.’ The normal Lancer however, is at its devastating best, proving to be one of the most effective weapons amongst all others. These coupled with new enemies add up to offer some of the most goriest kills ever. Inducing the game’s online experience with new life, developers have added to Gears 3 the new Beast mode which for the first time puts players in the shoes of Locusts as they set out to kill humans. However unthinkable that might sound to true Gears fans, this mode is surely a spectacular addition to the game.

An easily accessible navigation system makes sure that you’re never left in the lurch when in a mission. While the Insane and Hardcore difficulty modes throw several challenging elements, there is still a Casual mode for all the newbies out there. Speaking from the cinematic point of view, this game kicks in some of the best cut scenes to have set foot on console games. They are so exhilarating that we’re sure no one would want to miss a bit. A special mention would go the sequence in which (spoiler alert) Dom dies. We hate to break it out to you like this, but now that you’ve read it, it’s true. This particular cut scene is sure to bring out the emotional side of any Gears fan. Talking about the enemies, there’s a considerable amount of variety to their appearance. But what really make this game tick are the strategic situations that the characters are faced with.

Gears of War 3 coughs up fascinating visuals thanks to Epic’s ever so reliable Unreal Engine technology. The environments on planet Sera manage to get the better of you and leave a lasting impact, whereas the character designs are so extravagant that they force you to have blind faith in the fact that all that is happening on the screen is actually true. We might have exaggerated that part a bit, but we hope that drives home the point we’re trying to make. Gears of War 3 takes place in many different environments and what’s noteworthy is the fact that each setting has its own feel and uniqueness. Be it the seven star hotel building in Azura or the ash people filled city of Char. Superb lighting is another aspect that gives the game’s graphics a boost. And of course, who can forget the much hyped stereoscopic 3D.

Final Word: With so many diverse options available, Gears of War 3 for Xbox 360 gives you a sturdy replay value that’ll make you fall in love with this game all over again each time you try out a different game mode. We are yet to see a title that offers this good a multiplayer experience, while never at any point lagging behind in the single player department. But legend has it that Gears of War 3 has been hit with quite a number of snags related to its online features (who can forget the malfunctioning during entering the Horde mode). We were unlucky enough to experience one such fault. Downloading an update for the title corrupted and erased all our campaign progress, thus forcing us to start all over again. We certainly hope Epic comes up with a solution for these minor issues which kill the fun once in a while. With this, we wrap up the review and go into mourning the end of one of the most brilliant game series’ ever.
Graphics: 9.5/10
Sounds: 8.5/10

NPD Reports Strong Sales of Madden, Gears of War, and Dead Island
AppId is over the quota

Here's what did!
1. Madden NFL 12
2. Gears of War 3
3. Dead Island
4. FIFA Soccer 12
5. NHL 12
Gotta love Madden's continue dominance, and no one should be surprised by Gears of War 3's strong sales. I am taken back by Dead Island's dominance in the market. With review scores tending low on the scales, Dead Island is probably surprising Deep Silver and Square Enix.
Guess that means we're in for more zombies! Take a look at the rest of the top 10 chart and then organize them into your own fantasy list.
6. Deus Ex: Human Revolution
7. Resistance 3
8. Lego Star Wars III: The Clone Wars
9. Call of Duty: Black Ops
10. Warhammer 40,000 Space Marine

Gears of War 3 - GR Review
AppId is over the quota
When Gears of War debuted, it used Mad World as marketing. Monsters and rubble and darkness, that was the backdrop used to invoke hopelessness, desertion, war, and sadness in the time of the Coalition of Ordered Governments. Of course, what gamers got was a series about blood, guts, and chainsawing your enemies in half. Massive men impale even more massive monsters on rusty bayonets and spike the left-behind corpses as if they'd just scored a touchdown.
So when Epic Games attempted to make good on Mad World and their marketing in Gears of War 2 by drumming up some hackneyed, piss-poor excuse for a love drama, I laughed it off. Corrupting Dominic Santiago's wife and forcing him to put a teary-eyed bullet in her head was too much, too far. Always the bridesmaid, never the bride, Dominic couldn't drive the Gears plot forward.
Fortunately for everyone involved, Gears of War 3 arrives on the scene to make good on every single wrong turn the series has taken. Marcus Fenix and company are back and they've brought with them a campaign filled with weight, emotion, momentum, and even more death and destruction.

Augustus Cole, in particular, overcomes the enthusiastic black stereotyping he's suffered in the previous games to be one of the more sympathetic characters throughout the campaign. Whether he's reassuring others, revisiting his hometown, or literally scoring a touchdown, Cole remains the more lively of faces.
The previous Gears exploits felt like they were fighting you every step of the way, sprouting enemies in your path at every possible junction to artificially lengthen what should have been a brief, torrid affair. Gears 3 does away with this. There are still more than enough enemies to shoot and stomp, but firefights in battlefields are more fluid than they've ever been.

These mechanics carry over to the game's fantastic multiplayer modes. New modes like Team Deathmatch give players a more fast-paced mode, while King of the Hill and other series stalwarts continue to please. Tactical, frenetic, and fraggy all at once, this is the series' best competitive multiplayer. Still, Horde mode takes the cake as the best way to interact with friends online or split-screen.
Gears of War 3 turns the Horde Mode dial to 11 by introducing new mechanics, like the ability to build and repair armaments, gates, and turrets. What's more, as you progress through each wave of enemies, you'll earn more cash to spend on power-weapons. You could blow all of your dough on the mortar or you could upgrade your road spikes to barbed wire to slow down even more enemies. Players can also buy their way back to life, if they have the cash for it.

Beast Mode takes the fun of Halo: Reach's Rocketfight Firefight mode and mixes in the savagely sweet brutality of Left 4 Dead's Special Infected. Players won't put as many hours into it as they will Horde or competitive multiplayer, but it's a welcome distraction from the human side of things.
As a package, Gears of War 3 is simply the best. Small nags you may have—like less than stellar dialogue or some overpowered attackers in Beast Mode—fall by the wayside as balanced competitive multiplayer, deep Horde Mode mechanics, and a driving campaign win out. Epic Games have trimmed the fat and churned out one lean, purposeful Gear, ready to stomp some Locusts back into the ground.
Revolution report card + Purposeful campaign+ Great cast of characters- Except for Jace+/- Excellent conclusion(?!)+ Bright, colorful, even vivid environments+ Mad World+ Fast, frantic competitive multiplayer+ Matchmaking with dedicated servers- Some minor balancing issues+ Horde Mode 2.0- Not enough Cole TrainMore information about Gears of War 3

Gears of War 3 Transfer Cable Is Late But Here Now
AppId is over the quota

Those who purchased the new 320GB Gears of War 3 console were likely left scratching their head over how to transfer data from one Xbox 360 Slim to another. Well, Major Nelson has just announced that they have the new transfer cable ready for you (image enlarged above).
It's still a shame, though, that these cables will need to be purchased as an extra and that it took about two weeks between the release of Gears of War 3 before this was officially announced. In that time, most people afflicted had to find other means of transferring the data,, with one commenter rogXue having "to pick apart [his] old system".

I played the hell out of the Gears of War 3 Beta, even ranking up enough to unlock every item in the retail game. The only thing I found myself disappointed with after chainsawing all of those dudes... and all of those other dudes... and then chainsawing their friends, family members, loved ones, acquaintances, and... well, after chainsawing everyone I could, I was left wanting.
Why? Because Gears of War 2's greatest accomplishment was Horde Mode, and we'll have to wait until the retail release of Gears of War 3 for Horde 2.0. Luckily, the lovely Anya Stroud is here to tell us all about it. Take it away Anya:
Wait- Was that a Gear swinging a sword during all that talk about cold hard cash? Related Games: Gears of War 3Tags: Gears of War, Epic Games, trailer

I feel so old.
The year 2011 is turning out to be dedicated to making gamers everywhere feel old. My favorite game in the world is The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time . Nintendo just released a remake of the game yesterday as of writing. Reading some of Nintendo's Iwata Asks segments on the game, I've come to realize, that I feel really old. I'm only 22. I was a 90's kid. And I feel old because of this game. Let's think about it. Ocarina of Time , lovingly referred to...

E3 first impressions: Gears of war 3 - Horde 2.0
This is the life of a gamer. We love spending hours after hours play and completion targets. But we hate, hate, absolutely hate, if a game (or person) abruptly interrupts our mission.

Horde mode in gears of war 2introduced and it was a great enrichment, fans complained to about it too bad run, lack of variety and simple functions such as host migration. Your feedback rant took account of Epic Games, because Horde 2.0 in gears of war 3 makes a bold statement.
Not only you have the locusts, to kill, you have to achieve other goals. The first is to build a command post, which is in turn different areas of the map where you can create more defense, auto turrets, fences and doubles, which unlocks as bait to enemy fire.
Once you dominate more in building, you are made better defense systems. At the beginning of the round for example, Spike barriers can build, but eventually you can build barbed wire fences or laser fences. More kill you, the more money earn you and can then spend on fortifications. There are even bonus objectives, such as the execution of all opponents to populate your virtual wallet when completed.
Money is also used to buy back your way in if killed, so that you are no longer forced to the members of your team without you play to see. Have not enough money to buy back? No problem. Ghost camera mode enable, float around, search enemy for your teammates, and earn money for it. Or questions you your friend, you, on the ground, there are trade, in the position, money.

But money is fast, when you consider that create everything you destroy enemies, so that update and repair your defense is a constant pressure. In addition, that a chef appears all ten waves and at random, also. You fight against enemies such as a mini-Corpser, a Brumak or a lambent Berserker, which demands even gears lead producer Chris Wynn, which is a "Crazy-hard" struggle. Wynn explains: "..." We have tried to put a time limit for five minutes and we never once she hit in five minutes. "It was kind of embarrassing." Fantastic. If the production team can beat their own creation in a certain amount of time, are players in quite the challenge.
Horde 2.0 sees keeping a more substantial and consistent players on the go: you have fixes to build, repair, update, and defend, kill to survive locusts and bosses and make money at the same time; all without getting stopped the game thoughts on the host. She long wanted that host migration was finally added in Horde 2.0. Decides the host end, the game is suitable on transition to the next player, and you can still invite someone else in the onslaught.
Horde 2.0 will be available on 20 September (along with the rest of the gears of war 3, of course) this year.
Gatling gears - PC - GR review
Stop me if you have ever heard: a top-down dual stick "Bullet Hell"-shooter in the midst of a faux ultra military world, with a very common name and seems to come out of the damn blue. Gatling Gears fits this description to the letter, but even so, it is a great game.
In the prologue we meet Max and Julius, two war buddies just their Mech combined training. Sooner rather than later the evil enemy group is the basis of the Empire and chaos takes place. In the resulting battle their enemy is defeated, with Julius want the remaining enemy villages, so max with no choice to destroy, but the army desert. Living with his niece, Max is forced years later, low, again in his tank jump to the Empire for always stop.
Gatling Gears is pretty much what you would expect from this type of shooter. The left stick controls movement of the one for targets while the right, and shoot an endless shooting cannon is used. You are also able to use missiles and grenades, along with a limited weapon of mass destruction for those "oh, crap" moments.
Bullets fly all over the screen, but fortunately, the controls are very fast, so you pretty much quickly Dodge everything if you the skills. If you anything like me and are terrible at this sort of game are, are you like probably you your walking tank with everything can upgrade to stronger shields on more powerful rocket launcher. The way you update your character attributes is tied directly to exploration. By stepping into the pirates shop at the beginning of each field set, can you spend gold bars that you collect during the phases in four categories.
The point system in Gatling gears not only for viewing. Due to the destruction of enemies, get gear-bits, which become a combo counter, which, in turn, multiplying your score as long as you remain unaffected. For every certain points you earn, experience is and how to use paint of jobs, a pet, and several tracks flair for cosmetic touches to the tank can.
Side by side with the main campaign a survival mode is wave after wave of enemy attack in a closed arena, a standard. The mode is on, and features three cards. There is an option for both online and offline co-op for the two game modes also, which is a welcome addition, when you try to complete this XBLA arcade game in hard mode.
It succeeded in vanguard, to develop a pretty good looking game, which is also one of the better arcade games available. The scenery and characters are absurd colorful and very good with bullets, explosions, more bullets and more explosions tear suburban neighborhoods into pieces shatter animate. The destruction and chaos look beautiful and there is little evidence of slowing down. There is also some evidence of their previous game Greed Corp in certain parts of the Gatling gun gear; in particular, levels, where the ground caves in, which alternative paths.
Gatling Gears is the definition of a unexpected surprise. It has a completely generic concept, but its execution is exceptional. This is a little game that is worth a few hours with, even though the replay value is shaky with the $15 price tag. Still, it is charming and much challenge to find whether you go it alone or with a friend in tow.
