The thieves. The thieves. The filthy little thieves. Where is it? Where is it? They stole it from us. My precious. Curse them. We hates them. It’s ours, it is, and we wants it.

We're not talking about the ring. Fuck that stupid ring. We're talking about a GR Haiku Friday prize - and one that may be our biggest ever...

...a $100 gift card to Amazon.com.

Leave your Lord of the Rings inspired Haiku not in this post, but here on the Lord of the Rings: War in the North game page.

We've opened up comments on game pages now, and what better way to show off a new feature than by giving you $100 toward video games?

Every piece of news you didn't see today, but are seeing now at 10:45 PM after my sushi dinner! SUSHI IS DELICIOUS.
Future Publishing, the company behind every "Official" console magazine, PC Gamer, and Best Buy's @Gamer magazine, is not too hot with the printer right about now. Neither are the company's former Chief Executive Officer and Chief Financial Officer who've resigned in a huff with the Board of Directors breathing down their necks. Apparently the publisher of a whole bunch of garbage and Nintendo Power Magazine is moving to a largely digital platform so say good by to the print world, Nester! (Nintendo Power still has those Nester comics right?)The Darkstalkers series will see a new release in what feels like decades... Wait, did I say new release? I meant to say that Darkstalkers: The Night Warrior will be rereleased on the PS3 and PSP as a PSOne Classic. The game doesn't currently have a release date but-- Oh, I'm sorry! I didn't mean to make you cry with that whole Darkstalkers new release thing.... Seriously, stop crying, this is getting weird.Occupy Wall Street is affecting Bioshock Infinte's narative... somehow. Ken Levine said to the Washington Post "As we developed these opposing groups the Founders and the Vox Populi, it was interesting to see this play out in real time, so that the fictional movements we're creating that are set in this heightened past are almost being duplicated in reality." It's kind of like how the Covenant represents the Tea Party and Halo is President Obama but instead of Congress being a bunch of dicks it's the Flood... right?

Friday haiku: Select a PAX Pickeled peppers

Was God not true, the a long week? I mean, between travel of peopleand the laundry list of previews, hands-on impressions, and oh Hey! View! I have a copy of Deus Ex: human revolution waiting for me at home! Looks like all that has gone out the window.

While I this labor day will spend weekend play video games instead of work (warten--, which it a while ago, I said), what you do? Wait, warten-

Before you start to tell me all your plans, make sure that you do this, in the form of a haiku! Put a haiku in the comments with your plans for the three-day weekend. Doing so successful is not just tell me what you've got this weekend, it'll also net a $20 Microsoft points card you.

are... well, you waiting for what?

Last week's Haiku Fridays gave you the choice of a new game for your Kinect, or for those of you without a Kinect, a nice box of cereal! This week, we offer up another choice, this time with a slightly more on-topic approach. Just like last week, pick a prize, write a haiku, and win!

Up for grabs we have a download code for Toy Soldiers: Cold War on Xbox 360. This Xbox Live Arcade title wraps up the Summer of Arcade in fine fashion with some hands-on tower defending. Don't have an Xbox? Not in the mood for toys? Anthony's also graciously offered up this Call of Duty: Black Ops Rezurrection DLC poster, complete with snarling zombie:

So which will it be? If you're out to win Toy Soldiers: Cold War, write a haiku with the "Cold War" in it. If you want to win the poster, write a haiku about a zombie. In the mean time, let's listen to what TheNesMan, our 100th Haiku Fridays winner, is listening to:

Kingdom of Violence

Once upon a time the citizens of a fair and prosperous kingdom enjoyed a pastime. Their hobby was a combination of story-telling, make-believe, music, and action. Practitioners would don costumes and play out specially created stories with each other; some stories would have swordfights , others gunfights, others still would have no real world violence and would instead focus around more tranquil story elements. No matter the content the participants were normal people engaging in an interest....

Power pellet Friday haiku

Power pellet Friday haiku

Is it Friday already? The week went by so fast with all this 3ds and Vita news... but now that we are here, it's time for some haiku! And appropriate, we give away this week PAC-man & Galaga dimensions for 3ds!

It's funny, because it is true.

Whether you've decided, grab a shiny new 3ds at this tasty low price and you need to start work on your game library, or you are an early adopter and want to round that killed 20 freebies, a free game will power your pellet up and chase away the spirits of boredom! And this is actually more like six games!

Above, that I recently checked out the two coming, that Cabela is games on the back of Activision van hunting (it is not so strange, I swear as it sounds) and went with some Cabela's big game Hunter 2012 T-shirts, so I'm going to throw in one of those! I hope that the winner is either a medium or a XL, because that's all I have!

Show us some old school love of this week! To win the prize pack, you have a Pac-Man or Galaga- themed haiku in the comments section. If you create, combine the two - well, I don't say that you bonus points... but I am not get not, that it either...

Check-in on Monday, whether the rest had out haiku!

Pressed this brand onto my head
My shame till I die.

It was not sloth, sir.
Lack of desire for the prize
guided what I wrote.

Haiku I do write
Attempting Freedom from shame.
Simply say you’re sorry.

At writing haiku
I may not be the best, but
better than the rest.

Some were bad, some good
Some smell as fish in the sun

They ask for a 3 line Haiku. So even if you do post all that and its decent and maybe it even all good, that doesn't mean you should sound grumpy because you don't get picked. My view of this weekly thing has always been for fun and to hand out rewards to different people each week when they can.

To be blunt reading a post like this just makes me see you as a sore looser.0 1Like or Dislike?Posted: Aug 2nd, 2011 at 8:45 pmMerlinMerlin - Joined: Oct 28, 2005In the end this should all just be for good fun, write a silly poem and call it a day win or loose.0 1Like or Dislike?Posted: Aug 2nd, 2011 at 8:46 pmtinymhgtinymhg - Joined: Jun 22, 2011Breaking Haiku form just to speak to you Merlin. Sorry if I come across as a sore looser, that was me trying to be funny (unsuccessfully). And it has blinded you to my real tirade against being singled out for what I see as a harsh rebuke: LAZINESS! “In the end this should all just be for good fun, write a silly poem and call it a day win or loose.” What you suggest I do I had already done. I wrote a silly and very bad little poem confident in the knowledge I could not win. I don’t have an Xbox 360 and thus did not want the prize. I wrote that silly and very bad little poem just for the fun of it. If you look at the whole page I was the only person singled out for a red bordered retort. Maybe I am overly sensitive, do to some emotionally scaring things in my past, yet I feel as if I was held up for public ridicule, pilloried if you will.
A simple apology is all I ask, and until I get it Daniel gets more haiku.

P.S. I think some of my 3 line only stuff was pretty good too. Far away in the kingdom of Pire-at-Sea the evil ruler Arfor concocted a diabolical plan. He would create cloned citizens to infiltrate the kingdoms of Ninmar , Migat and Sogi . These clones would work for the citizens of the kingdoms for free providing the sorts of home help services the kingdoms’ citizens ordinarily paid for regularly.
