Blizzard Looking into Gamepad Controls for Diablo III
AppId is over the quota
With some lucky people lost in the Diablo III beta already and the rest foaming at the mouth in an effort to get in, it's all but certain that a huge share of the PC gaming population are going to make the game a titanic success (and Blizzard making even more money off of the cold hard cash Auction House will certainly help). But after this interview with PC Gamer, don't be surprised if you see the beast make its way to consoles at some point in the future.

DIII's director Jay Wilson said that they're looking into control schemes beyond the traditional keyboard and mouse, specifically a 360-like controller:
Such a thing would certainly be nice. I can just imagine using a good ol' analog stick to maneuver through those dungeons and it definitely seems more natural than a keyboard and mouse combo. But if this is gonna happen, it won't be in time for launch. One of the reasons why we’re exploring the idea of a console version of Diablo 3 because we feel that the controls and the style of the game lend itself to a console. With some of our early experiments in putting a direct control scheme into the game via a 360-like analogue controller, I’ve been ‘Oh this feels even better, with direct control…
"I can pretty much guarantee that if we decide to do a console version that we will look to support a pad on the PC,” Wilson stated. “But initially with release I don’t think we’ll be ready."

Blizzard and valve are above to uniform online community, Sony

Blizzard Entertainment and valve software close towards the ideal of a single online space between all consoles.
Gabe Newell said valve, develop magazine, that it would be "Ideal for a single online community, regardless of the platform to have playing on the players," Frank Pearce and Blizzard Entertainment has separately develop magazine said that the industry needs "Figure", as one the Internet better place to find out how to customers from the Internet.
With the success of Portal-2 (and the upcoming counter strike: global offensive) on cross platform play between the PC and PS3, valve already expressed his disappointment with Microsoft's online restrictions while praise Sony for PS3's open platform. Sony plans to cross-platform game with PC for CCP Games upcoming dust 514.
At the same time, Pierce, accepts that cross-platform game might not best for each game:
[Source]Do have a gaming experience on the PC that you want to enjoy the people must to the console adapt components of this experience on various platforms. Maybe that's not a level playing field. There are perhaps some games best as a shared community, as a common gameplay experience. It really was fully dependent on the game.
