When John Carmack took the stage at Quake Con this year, he had something negative to say about every platform you can play Rage on. Damn! What a downer! The PS3's OS is too memory-intensive. The 360 needs a 20+ GB install to run at the best possible quality. PCs are expensive!

With RAGE having gone gold with copies on their way to retailers now, id Software took the opportunity to finalize some other key storage details. PS3 gamers will need to install 8GB of data to the console's hard drive. Xbox 360 gamers will be switching between three separate discs. Speaking with reporters, Creative Director Tim Willits has said:

Sony was great. Kudos to Sony for letting us do that. They don't allow every game to do that. So definitely, hats off. What we were able to do is install all the textures to the highest level. What is nice about the PS3 platform is that it's just one platform. Everyone has one Blu-ray drive, one hard drive, it's all the same. Some of the other systems you have... should I install it on my 360? Should I not install it? So yes, it's very nice.

Willits says that gamers won't need to install every disc, though they should for the best possible RAGE experience on 360. RAGE will be available on PS3, Xbox 360, and PC at retailers on October 4th.

Wii u will not play Blu-ray discs or even DVDs

Wii u will not play Blu-ray discs or even DVDs

What the PlayStation price was 3 at the start, because with Blu-ray disc as a game format, and double as a Blu-ray players part. Price are not the only risk, because at the time Blu-ray HD-DVD in the format wars fighting was. A few years later, we see developers use the large capacity of Blu-ray, while the Xbox 360 DVD9 format forces to fill larger games to multiple discs.

Nintendo therefore opt for a "high density proprietary optical disc", which is similar to Blu-ray in storage capacity. But despite going for more storage capacity, decided, as a whole and the Wii-U Blu-ray disc or DVD playback will provide not on Blu-ray format to skip them.

The Wii for DVD playback, not allowed, doing the odd considering that was Xbox 360, and the PS3 Blu-ray disc and DVD playback. Something that many were sure would the Wii & addresses be if questions why Nintendo from skip's, here's why:

The reason for this is that we justify the feeling that enough people already have devices, the playback of DVDs and Blu-ray, are, so that the cost to create it this functionality to the console of Wii U because the patents relating to these technologies.

At least that's what Nintendo head honcho, Satoru Iwata, said investors after E3. But, it can instant-streaming for Netflix. That is insufficient definitely something that Nintendo could make. The Wii does it, and console streaming by Netflix accounts for more than 20% of the total Internet bandwidth.
